HKCA 25th Anniversary and SAHK 60th Anniversary

To mark the silver jubilee of HKCA and diamond jubilee of SAHK, a series of events have been organized. The College co-organized our Annual Scientific Meeting with the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland which was successfully held on 22-23 November 2014.  We published a commemorative book "125 Years of Anaesthesia in Hong Kong – Past, Present and Future".  It was officially launched on 22 November 2014 and distributed at the International Scientific Meeting in Anaesthesiology (ISMA) together with the stamp pack. Every HKCA fellow and member are entitled to have a copy of the book and stamp pack.  The College will contact those who did not attend the ISMA regarding the collection of the book and stamp pack. The commemorative book has also been made into flipbook and PDF versions so you may read the book via your tablet computer or mobile anywhere online.

Retired Fellows and Members

The HKCA Council (2013-2015) resolved to create of a “retired” class for fellows/members who opt to declare retirement (irrespective of age). To declare retirement, a written declaration from the applicant confirming that he/she had retired from all remunerative practice/job/business in or outside Hong Kong. The annual subscription would be waived for fellows and members aged over 65 or for those who have declared retirement (irrespective of age). The waiving of subscription will start in the following financial year after the fellow/member had attained aged 65 or over or after the retirement application received by the College secretariat. The subscription (whole or in part) already paid for that year will not be reimbursed. Fellows and members concerned must inform the College immediately should there be any change of their retirement status and the subscription waiver will cease to apply thereafter. The College would also inform HKAM of the application of retirement of the fellow, so that the CME/CPD will be exempted. A retired fellow who subsequently wishes to resume active practice will be required to have obtained the minimum number of accreditable CME/CPD points for one CME/CPD cycle counting back from the date of application in order to resume medical practice (please refer to CME/CPD Programme clause 27.1).
