Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament

Thanks to the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists (HKCORL) for organising the Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament last year. It was a huge success. Having received positive feedbacks and encouraging responses, HKCORL is going to organise the tournament again this year.

British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) and BJA Education

Fellows are able to access the BJA and BJA Education starting in March 2016. An email from jnls.cust.serv@oup.com regarding your subscription number and the registration procedure has been sent. WCA 2016

In addition to a wide spectrum of topics covered in the scientific programme, various enjoyable networking events have been organised. The highlight is the SAHK WCA 2016 Reception to be held on 31 August 2016 at the 100-year heritage building, Western Market. There will be canapés, drinks and a wide range of fun entertainment, including a live band. This will be a great opportunity for local anaesthetists to network with international colleagues and old friends. A one-day interactive workshop conducted by members of the Department of Anaesthesiology at the University of Hong Kong with help from renowned international TIVA leaders Professors Gavin Kenny and Stefan Schraag. This course is for the occasional TIVA practitioner, as well as those who want to refine their technique through interactive learning.

International Symposium on Spine and Paravertebral Sonography for Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, 26-27 August 2016

The International Symposium on Spine and Paravertebral Sonography for Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (ISSPS) organised by the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, The Chinese University of Hong Kong will be held from 26 to 27 August 2016 at Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Shatin, Hong Kong. This will be the eighth event since its inception in 2009. Today this symposium has established itself as a forum for clinicians to share experience and advance their knowledge in the use of ultrasound for central neuraxial and paravertebral interventions in anaesthesia and pain medicine. Like in previous years the scientific committee has put together a thought provoking scientific program in which opinion leaders and renowned experts from around the world and locally will discuss the most updated information on this state of the art field of anaesthesia and pain medicine, and beyond.

Asian SASM: Updates on Perioperative Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, 28 August 2016

Asian Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine (Asian SASM) will host a Satellite Meeting of the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists on Sunday 28 August 2016 at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel in Hong Kong. The theme of the Meeting is “Updates on Perioperative Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea”. Integrative Joint Organizational Platform and Survey of attitudes toward integration cum Chronic Disease Management with Integrative Medicine

The Hong Kong Association for Integration of Chinese-Western Medicine (HKAIM) is now working on one of its missions to bridge the gaps between medical (WM) doctors and Chinese medicine (CM) practitioners. Funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), a survey is now being conducted. This survey is designed to better understand attitudes toward future collaboration between western medicine (WM) and Chinese medicine (CM) in Hong Kong. 35th Annual ESRA Congress (ESRA 2016)

The 35th Annual ESRA Congress (ESRA 2016) will be held in Maastricht, The Netherlands, from 7-10 September 2016.
